Didn't surprise the Ghoul that the Vaultie didn't have a clue what to do with a cigarette; also didn't surprise him that she was game to try it. He didn't even have time to offer guidance before she was going for it. He raised an eyebrow, chuckled softly as she proceeded to hold more of the smoke in her mouth than she took into her lungs. "You gotta inhale it, Vaultie," he drawled, then shook his head and reached out with his free hand to catch her by the chin and pull her close. "Take a deep, steady breath through your mouth," he instructed, then took a deep drag off the cigarette and leaned in, fitting his mouth over hers and letting the smoke drift from his lips, past hers.

Lucy had never really been scared to try anything, as evident by the last few minutes or so when she had pretty much jumped him. Or maybe he had jumped her. She wasn't sure who had made the first move but now they had a sort of easy truce going as he chuckled at her before correcting her on how she was supposed to smoke.

Lowering her gaze back to his, she smiled softly while lifting a hand to curl her fingers against his cheek, leaning in to kiss him quickly again. "Thank you but I don't think smoking is for me."

The Ghoul certainly didn't take offense, was honestly kind of impressed that she took it as well as she did. Was a night for her to impress him on many levels, seemed like. Her smirked a little and accepted the quick kiss, adding the tiniest nip to her lower lip. "Never know til you try things, Vaultie," he drawled, leaning back and taking another drag. "Lemme know when you're ready to try some chems." Now that would be entertaining. The Vaultie all blissed out and high? He'd pay to see it. With a soft grunt, he clamped the cigarette between his teeth and shifted to tuck his dick back into his pants. "Might wanna put your pants back on proper, sweetheart. He winked at her and put his hat back on, meandering over to the door--only just then realizing they must've scared Dogmeat off, because she was posted up outside, laying near the doorway, and looked up at him with baleful eyes. "Oh, get the fuck inside," he grumbled, reaching over to ruffle the scruff on the back of her neck as he started in on setting himself up a watch post.

"You can tell me more about them later," she decided with a nod. Which meant that she needed time to think about it before she would be trying any of the chems that he had mentioned.

She continued to smile as he winked at her before heading to the front door, taking a moment to enjoy watching him. Then she realized what she was doing and whirled to scurry away before he caught her staring at him like some lovesick schoolgirl. Making her way to the bed, she did as she promised and left the right side of the mattress open since she didn't need the whole thing to herself. She was just making herself comfortable when she spotted Dogmeat meandering over to lay down at the foot of the bed. Maybe it was the exhaustion of the traveling or being well fucked but it didn't take long for Lucy to drift off.

The Ghoul spent the first half of the night tinkering with some of the bits and bobs he'd found around the workbench, and managed to make a passable frag grenade that would get them out of a scrape in case of emergency. He counted out the caps they'd found and, in a moment of conscience, divided them to give the Vaultie half of them to spend on whatever the fuck her flight of fancy wanted. They were traveling together, so the salvage should divide equally.

When he got bored--and tired--he got up and crept over to the mattress. He considered nudging her awake with his foot--his usual method--but instead, he took his hat off and stretched out on the spot she'd left for him and draped his arm over her, spooning against her back. He nipped her earlobe, ran his hand over her hip. "Your shift, sunshine," he mumbled in her ear, ready to catch her elbow in case she jerked instinctively.

It was a good move on his part to be ready to catch her elbow in case she jerked instinctively as that was exactly what happened when he nipped her ear, sending a little shock through her to drag her out of her sleep. She half twisted towards him too, blinking rapidly as she struggled to make sense of what was happening just before her brain caught up. As soon as she recognized him, she relaxed with a sigh of relief. "You startled me."

She hadn't computed what he had whispered in her ear, so she shifted the rest of the way to face him, slipping into his arms as she pressed her face against his chest and closed her eyes again. Then she muttered, "Five more minutes."

Considering how she had jerked back, it was more likely he would have gotten an elbow to the stomach or the chest but merely caught her elbow instead until she realized who it was. She didn't even think twice about how he had anticipated the way she would wake up or the way they were instantly cuddling into each other. But she had meant to get up and take her shift so he could rest but he made it impossible when he started to run his fingers through her hair. At least until a couple of hours before sunrise when she stirred awake, biting back a small yawn when she peeked open her eyes and realized the fire had died down. She was still warm though and she realized it was to do with the fact that she was sprawled across The Ghoul with her head on his chest and her arm wrapped around his middle. He looked pretty content in his sleep too which she got to see as she turned her head to watch his face, taking a moment just to study him.

Of course, no one would really call him handsome in the state he was in now but Lucy didn't mind. She didn't find him as horrendous as she thought she might when she had first met him. She could almost see the man he had been at one time, how handsome he might have been then and it made her smile. Then she turned her head slowly to look down the rest of him, realizing that she hadn't seen much of him since he had remained mostly clothed while they were having sex. That made her curious as she slid a hand down his stomach to inch her fingers up under his shirt, grazing across his stomach just above his belt.

The Ghoul slept lightly, and thankfully, usually came to his senses quickly. He caught her hand before it could get far, but he didn't do anything violent. Instead, he blinker his eyes half open and focused on the vague shape of her face. "Might not like anything under there, doll," he warned her...though, after a moments contemplation, he let go of her hand, silently giving her permission to continue. If she was repulsed, well...fun while it last and probably for the best. He was a mess though. Even more than other ghouls, what with being stuck in the ground and drug out every so often to have pieces of him sliced off. The rapid healing from that left some...interesting scars.

Lucy froze when he caught her hand with a lightning quick strike that she was getting used to from him. Still, it surprised her how quickly he could move even when she thought he was asleep. She flashed him a guilty look for disturbing him and for trying to peek at the rest of him when he was out of it. "I'm sorry..."

But then he let go of her hand after warning her that she might be repulsed which caused her a bit of concern. Sitting up a bit, she made sure he could see what she was doing as she started to push his shirt up slowly so that she could see his torso or at least his front.

The vest was making that a little difficult, so he reached up to undo the buttons with quick twists of his fingers. When it fell open it would be easier to slide his shirt up and get a good look at the scarred mess beneath. "200 years leaves its mark, Vaultie," he remarked, eyes half closed, open just enough to let him see her reaction.

She paused when she realized that the vest was hindering her and he seemed to sense it as he reached up to pop the buttons open. Once the vest had fallen open, she pushed the shirt up to his neck or as high as it would go as she let her gaze fall upon his naked chest. But she wasn't repulsed when her eyes widened and then looked pained, her breathing hitching as she reached out with a hand to skim her fingers over different marks. "Oh god, what happened?"

Then she scowled as she looked up at his face, her eyes flashing. "Did someone do this to you?"

He hadn't expected her reaction to be anger. He really hadn't. In spite of knowing she had that strong moral center...surely she knew he wasn't some innocent. Every mark on his body he'd surely left on the world ten fold.

He also hadn't expected to like the feel of her warm little hands running over the knotted scar tissue that ravaged his body, hadn't expected to feel his cock twitch with interest in his pants. "I hope you made them pay for it," she murmured with a surprising amount of vehemence, knowing that it might seem at odds with her supposedly peaceful nature but maybe she wasn't as good as some people wanted to believe. He had called her a little killer, after all.

It was getting harder to tell if it was just her touch that was doing it for him, or the vicious spark in her eyes, the venom practically dripping from bared teeth that was making him, well, get harder. He wondered if that surprised her, that vengeance wasn't his top priority with larger forces at play. It did surprise her a little that vengeance wasn't his top priority considering how quick he had been to dole it out to her and she found her gaze flitting to her necrotic finger before she looked away. Maybe it wasn't that important since he was focused on finding his family and helping her find her dad.

She started to slide her hand down before her eyes widened at the sight of the very noticeable bulge between his legs that hadn't been there when she first woke up. She looked at him sharply, blinking for a second before she started to smirk. "I really hope that's not from talking about cutting people up."
